Mentoring

For many years we have developed a variety of successful techniques that have been applied to numerous business situations in a multitude of industries both in our domestic market and on an international stage.

The common situation that has occurred in our own Mentoring success relates to recognising that most clients already have most of the knowledge and skills required to be successful but often lack the understanding of putting them into a business format. This is particularly relevant in the small-to-larger small size businesses, which is one of the areas of our focus.

Many people in different parts of the world have described Mentors. Some have said…

“… a mentor is a person who is your friend, someone who really cares about you. A mentor is committed to helping you be the best that you can be. A mentor will challenge you, not let you off the hook …”

In essence what we do as Mentors is simply ‘help people gain what they really want in the quickest possible time frame and in a profitable way.

It can be recognised here that there is ‘NO RIGHT or WRONG’ method of Mentoring as each and every business and their needs are different.
We take what we do seriously and specialise in Business outcomes- ‘ our success is your business ‘

Mentoring Processes:

“Sometimes Mentors can teach you new information, new strategies and skills; they show you how to get measurable results. Sometimes a Mentor doesn’t even teach you something new, but they remind you what you need to do at just the right moment, and they push you to do it.”

Adding to these thoughts, we can accept ‘Mentoring’ as ‘the process to support clients utilising ongoing mentoring through the use of Change Management techniques that analyse current and future business and personal goals to provide a range of possible solutions to meet these needs’.

Mentors Responsibilities:

The ultimate responsibility of the Mentor is to provide you a framework and processes, along with the opportunity to change, so that you obtain what you want in the time frame given.

This is encompassed with Honesty, Integrity and Due Diligence so that we gain the most for you.

In addition to this, it is the Mentors responsibility to foresee, based on the information you provide, any hidden business dangers and ensure these are addressed well ahead of their arrival-without this foresight, we are simply ‘putting out fires’ and not ensuring the growth of the business in a way that is conducive with change management techniques.

It is our responsibility to Challenge you to Change. Without the change, you will simply get the same result you always have and we want to ensure that you get a different result – that is our goal.

The process of Mentoring usually involves areas of Profitability and Human Resources whilst recognising the importance of business practices for product and service delivery commonly recognised as Sales & Marketing.

The AMFC process can be considered as this;

  1. Initial Interview-approximately 2 hours for free where we assess your needs. We provide an overview of mentoring methods to solve your problem areas and collect information about you that we use in this process.
  2. We then set an initial program – this is usually for the first four [4] – eight [8] weeks.
  3. At the end of the first four (4) week period, we reassess the strategies we need for you to be successful and begin the implementation of these.

Some of the areas AMFC covers within a business and with a hands-on approach in consultation with you are;

Business Structure:

Business Plan, Organisational Chart, Control Functions, Administration Area, Sales & Marketing Area, Legal Structure, Taxation Structure, Human Resources (HR Process, Salary & Wage Structure, Award Conditions, Contracts/Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Contractor Arrangements, Superannuation, Work Cover), Work Methods, Premises Review

Financial Structure:

Cashflow Projections (Both existing and new), Comparative and Projected Profit & Loss, Comparative Balance Sheet, Break Even Analysis, Expense Comparison, Accounting Process, Bank Requirements.

If you want to succeed, and want to gain the most from your business with the least amount of ongoing effort, you MUST create a PROCESS DRIVEN ENVIRONMENT.

Specialised Services:

In addition to one-on-one mentoring services, we provide assistance in;

  • Due Diligence for buying and selling businesses.
  • Business Valuations for purchasing or selling purposes.
  • Contract Negotiations and Dispute Resolution processes.
  • Quality Assurance assessments.

A ‘people driven organisation’ is dependent on specific people for these inputs and what those people are not available or simply leave, the process stops. ‘Process Driven Organisations’ don’t rely on specific people but on the process and is a continuous flow.

This means, you need a system for doing every function within your business the same way each time so that you obtain a consistent and quality result. We specialise in providing you a system that will ensure your success, afterall, ‘our success is your business’.

The First Step is a cup of coffee and a general chat to see if we can assist you. We don’t help every business we chat with.

For AMFC to be involved in a business, there must be a commitment to CHANGE or the business owners will simply get the same result…the same result is not our goal.
